A Typical Day

A Typical Trackday

A typical bike trackday operated by Tracktime Promotions Car days operate along similar lines.

07.00 The gates open and signing-on begins, signing on early will ensure that you have lots of time to rest and absorb the race circuit atmosphere.

08.30 Rider Brief, This is quite rude & “in your face” and deliberately meant to offend those who are most likely to offend others i e, the wheelie popping brain dead moron who doesn’t care about the safety of other riders on the day. It is compulsory for ALL riders to attend prior to being allowed on the track. No-one is excluded from the briefing, it is essential to find out which pit entrance / exit is being used, flags etc.

09.00 The first bikes are out on track. The normal running order is ” The Warm-Up sessions”
1st group: Novice/ Beginners
2nd group: Intermediate
3rd group: Experienced

The first session for the 1st & 2nd group is as follows: 2 laps at 30 mph (this allows the riders to learn the circuit without having to worry about braking or accelerating )

2 further laps at normal road speed (this helps each rider to determine how they will approach corners on their own machine )

On the 5th lap we bring you in and take you over to the noise-testing if it being carried out on that day.

The above is all done whilst following an instructor and at no point in time should he be overtaken.

We “Do Not” run this system for the Experienced group as all riders in this group must have ridden the circuit previously.

We have a “No Overtaking” rule on the first lap of any session after the warm-up sessions.

If in the event that a group has 2 stoppages in one session then that group will have an instructor lead them round for the 1st two laps of all the remaining sessions until they get a clear session.

The instructors are available for 1 to 1 or 1 to 2 rider training. We do not charge for this service and would ask that as many riders as possible utilise the instructor’s experience.

We normally stop for 1 hour for lunch, usually from 12.30 to 1.30 and we finish riding at 5.00. ( some of the dates will end when we start to lose the light )

That constitutes the make up of a typical track day, hopefully when you book onto one of our trackdays it will not be so strange and will make the briefing and the reasons for it much clearer
